Program Description:

At the end of the day, building the houses that become homes is what the Construction Engineering Technician program is all about. Building on the skills learned in the Carpentry Techniques programs, you'll learn construction methods, blueprint reading, how to determine material quantities, cost estimating and how to supervise residential construction projects.

You'll work with your hands, honing the technical skills required to perform the construction, estimating, and scheduling associated with the building of 1 and 2-storey houses, duplexes and townhouses. You'll study the materials, layouts, and safety issues of the building project, the plumbing and electrical systems, too, along with construction administration. You'll have a dynamic set of skills for the evolving homebuilding world.

You'll be able to tailor your schedule to study on Friday nights and weekends, or during the week. Whatever time suits you, your experience will be tailored to your needs.

So, if you're ready to take your carpentry skills to a higher level and embark on a satisfying, hands-on career, Fanshawe's Construction Engineering Technician program will get you off and rolling.
