In our rapidly developing world, employers demand strong written and verbal communication skills from their employees. The General Arts and Science program will teach you the value of developing these essential employability skills while also giving you the preparation you need to continue your studies at the college or university level.
As a student of both the one and two-year programs, you'll have the opportunity to follow the stream of study that most intrigues you with some majors even being offered in a flexible, online format. You'll also have the freedom to build your own program by selecting the courses that interest you the most.
Graduates of the one-year program often continue their studies with exciting, career-path programs.
If you choose to complete the two-year program, you'll have the advantage of enhanced application status at Western University, allowing you to enjoy credit transfer for a Bachelor's degree.

Advantages:
General Arts and Science is an open-enrollment, preparatory-studies program designed to provide opportunities for students to experience post-secondary studies in a supportive environment. Program participants are afforded the chance to develop a wide range of essential employability skills, benefit from extensive foundational Social Science and Humanities studies, upgrade their academic record, and focus on core and elective courses specific to their areas of interest. Students will also focus on professional writing and elective courses on culture, worldview, history, media and art.
Graduates of the One-Year Certificate program will be prepared to continue vocational studies at the college-level in a number of college programs. Students can also use the One-Year Certificate to apply to select Ontario universities.
Graduates of the Two-Year Diploma program can transfer credits directly to The University of Western Ontario with an enhanced application status, where an articulation exists for students wishing to pursue undergraduate studies in Indigenous Studies, Psychology, Sociology, English, and other combined undergraduate degrees.
