Program Description:
Spend your days at the golf club! Fanshawe's Golf and Club Management program is designed to teach you everything you need to know for a career in the ever-expanding golf and recreational club industry.
Learning the program isn't just confined to the classroom, of course. As part of the co-op modified schedule, you'll enter the club industry at peak season and work alongside seasoned veterans. Through the multifaceted curriculum, you'll graduate with a well-rounded, employable skill set for golf courses in Ontario and around the world. Program highlights include:
Learning how to operate a successful club (focused on golf or other recreational activities);
Acquiring hands-on experience managing landscaping and equipment issues;
Learning about key issues like human resources, membership management and accounting; and
Gaining knowledge in retail management and food and beverage facilities.
Co-op experience
As a Golf co-op student, you'll receive an additional course to help you prepare a cover letter, resume and improve your interview skills. You'll also be assigned a personal co-op consultant to help with the job search, connect with employers, monitor your co-op experience and work with your employer to assess your goals. Our co-op students have worked locally, nationally and internationally.

This tailor-made co-operative education program allows applicants the opportunity to explore the numerous career opportunities available in the ever growing golf and club industry. Inspired by the Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM), this program fosters the core educational competencies required to excel in a career in club management. Students will develop expertise in Business and Financial Management, Golf Club and Turf Services and Food and Beverage operations with a Hospitality focus. Theoretical studies will be supported by practical exposure in all areas of Golf and Club Facilities. Students will gain an appreciation for pro-active customer service and the relation to business development. Spending your days at the Golf Course.... What could be better?
Admission Requirement:
OSSD with courses from the College (C), University (U),
University/College (M), or Open (O) stream WITH:
- Any Grade 12 English (C) or (U)
- Mathematics* ONE OF:
- Any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U)
- Any Grade 11 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M)
OR
Academic and Career Entrance Certificate (ACE)
OR
Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) AND:
- Mathematics* ONE OF:
- Any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U)
- Any Grade 11 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M)
OR
Mature Applicant with standing in the required courses stated above

*Applicants who lack the required Mathematics may still gain eligibility for admission by completing appropriate prior upgrading.
