Program Description:

The Human Resources Management program is a one-year graduate certificate designed for university and college graduates looking for a career in human resources.  This program provides you with functional knowledge in core areas of human resources: recruitment and selection, training and development, human resources planning, occupational health and safety, organizational behaviour, finance and accounting, principles in human resources management, compensation and benefits, and labour relations. Available 100% online or in a traditional in-class format with a September and January start.

If you are thinking about completing your program online, you can assess your readiness with Smart Measure, an indicator of the degree to which distance learning and/or learning in a technology rich environment is the right fit for you. We also have a handy checklist to guide you along the way to becoming an online learner.

In-class students can also apply for the opportunity to further develop their human resources consulting skills, with the option of substituting two courses for the intensive community consultancy program, working with real business live clients.

All nine courses for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation are included in this program so you begin your career with the confidence you need to succeed. Students should be aware that the CHRP requirements will be changing during 2016 and CHRL requirements will be changing over the next four years. For further information, please see https://www.hrpa.ca/hrdesignations.
