Program Description:

Today's workplaces are hives of activity, with a variety of personalities and office tools needing to be managed, scheduled and processed. If you've thought of a career that will put you in the middle of a fast-paced, people-based environment, the Office Administration – Executive program will help you master the skills employees need to make their offices run smoothly.

You'll learn how to oversee budgets, supervise and train others, organize meetings and travel arrangements, as well as plan conferences, research ideas and produce professional documents and reports. You'll also develop your organization skills, learn computer applications, and enhance your verbal and written communication skills. You'll study the importance of leadership while attending meetings of the London chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, where you'll meet industry contacts and learn from seasoned professionals.

During two co-op work terms, you'll gain experience while getting paid. When you graduate, you can prepare and write exams for the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) or Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) designations. You'll also earn courses towards a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA).

In every efficient office there is a professional behind the scenes making sure everything is running smoothly. You can be that professional.

Advantages:
This two-year professional program is designed to provide students with an extensive practical understanding and knowledge of business operations and processes. The emphasis is on interpersonal, communication, organizational, technical, and problem-solving skills applied to enhance the effective operation of the workplace.

Expert training in software applications, technical support, and training skills will be combined with analytical and multitasking strategies to facilitate scheduling, decision making, coordination and task completion. Utilizing these skills, students will be capable of overseeing projects and budgets; supervising and training others; organizing meetings, conferences and travel arrangements; managing a personal computer; and researching, developing, and presenting accurate business correspondence and reports.
