Program Description:

As a student of Mechanical Techniques - CNC Programming, you’ll benefit from a curriculum built on hands-on learning. You’ll spend a large portion of your time working in a practical setting, becoming proficient in metal machining operations and planning procedures, with emphasis on practical machining techniques. You'll be introduced to modern manufacturing processes including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programming, Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM) software. This computer training will enhance your ability to set up and produce pieces in accordance with engineering drawing specifications.

You'll study subjects that relate to and support the theory and practical aspects of metal machining. Areas of focus include metallurgy, mathematics, computer application software, machine theory and practice, measuring instruments, drafting and process planning.

Admission Requirements:

  • Ontario      Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with:

    • Grade       12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)

    • Grade       12 Mathematics: (C) or (U) or Grade 11 Mathematics: MCR3(U)

  • OR      Mature Student Status (age 19 or older) with required course(s), their      equivalent(s), or appropriate Academic and Career Entrance (ACE)      Certificate program credits.
