Program Description:

As a student in this program, you’ll benefit from:

·         advanced studies in theory and practice of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, air handling, electricity and control systems

·         advanced studies in emerging renewable energy technologies

·         advanced studies in energy efficiency principles

·         training in building systems software training

·         practical hands-on experiences throughout the program.

In addition to your diploma, upon successful completion the following will earn you a Seneca Certificate with the designation of Building Environmental Systems – BES™ Operator Class II:

·         Building Systems: Practical Overview

·         Heating

·         Air Conditioning

·         Air Handling

·         Electrical

·         Controls

·         Water Treatment.

Successful completion of the above, as well as the following, earns a Seneca Certificate with the designation of Building Environmental Systems – BES™ Operator Class I:

·         Energy Efficiency in Large Buildings

and ONE of the following

·         Pipe Systems Design

·         Air Systems Design

·         Hospital Building Systems.

 

Admission Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)      or equivalent with:

    • Grade 12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)

    • Grade 12 Mathematics: (C) or (U) or       Grade 11 Mathematics: MCR3(U)

  • OR Mature Student Status (age 19 or      older) with the above prerequisite course(s), their equivalent(s) or      appropriate Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate program      credits.
