 Program Description:

 The Electrical Techniques program focuses on building a working knowledge of electricity and electronics in relation to residential and commercial applications. Students will develop skills and competencies in electrical theory, network cabling, electrical system installation and electrical workplace safety.

The program covers installation, testing, maintenance, analysis and troubleshooting of specified electrical circuits, equipment and systems under the supervision of a qualified person. Throughout the program, students will learn to apply health and safety standards to their work, and perform tasks in accordance with the standards of the Canadian Electrical Code.

Graduates will receive a post-secondary certificate.


Admission Requirement:

Applicants are selected on the basis of their academic achievement, including the required courses, and any other selection criteria outlined below.

  • Ontario Secondary School      Diploma or equivalent**

  • Grade 12 English (C or U)

  • Grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade      12 (C or U)

** Mature Student status (19 years of age or older)
