Program description:

Chemistry touches every aspect of our lives. The study of the complex molecular world, a world that exists at the submicroscopic level, is a discipline of enormous scope. Chemical research has produced innovations in agriculture, industry, health care and consumer goods. Today, chemistry is concerned with developing processes and products that will be the least harmful to the environment.

If you choose to study Chemistry at Laurier, you will have the opportunity to work with professors who are both devoted to teaching and active in research. The broad chemical principles learned are the basis of many of today's unique products, providing a foundation for a variety of career options.

 

Advantages:

·         There are many opportunities for you to interact with faculty and other students in the classroom and lab, and conduct research under faculty supervision, throughout your studies.

·         Modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, such as NMR and HPLC, are available to students engaged in research.

·         Our students often receive Summer Research Awards from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

·         Take this program in combination with Physics to focus on materials and nanoscience where you learn how to tailor the essential structures of materials at the nanoscale to achieve specific properties.

 

Admission Requirement:

·         Admission range of mid 70s.

·         Advanced Functions and English each at 60%.

·         Chemistry at 70%.

·         Chemistry and Mathematics requires Calculus and Vectors at 60%.

·          All prerequisite courses calculated in admission average.

Tuition Fees:

The Tuition fee in WLU depends on the credits students will choose and Students will be responsible for all fees assessed on their statement of billings.
