Program description:
Environmental Studies combines natural and social sciences to better understand the human relationship with the natural environment. In this field, you’ll focus on issues such as sustainability in management of land and water, the formulation of environmental policy, and how environmental management decisions can be improved to ensure a healthy future for humans and nature.
At Laurier, the Environmental Studies program is continually seeking new ways to enhance our understanding of the natural world and our place in it. Our professors are actively employed in monitoring threatened plant and animal species, are engaging citizens in environmental science and are working with communities and Aboriginal groups to devise better ways of managing land and regional planning, environment and natural resource policy, nature conservation.
Advantage:
· First-year Environmental Studies courses combine classroom learning with hands-on tutorials, so that you get the opportunity to discuss and analyze real-world environmental challenges in small group settings.
· Upper-year students participate in field study courses, where they can design and carry out original research projects.
· Fourth-year students have the option of doing an undergraduate thesis project to practice skills used by environmental professionals and graduate researchers, or to participate in field courses in places such as Costa Rica, the Canadian Rockies and Yukon.
· You’ll learn to use computerized Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a skill that is highly desired by private and public sector employers.

· Admission range of mid 70s.
· English at 60%.

The Tuition fee in WLU depends on the credits students will choose and Students will be responsible for all fees assessed on their statement of billings.
