Program description:

Laurier’s Financial Mathematics program is structured to teach you mathematics and its financial applications at the same time. Our core courses cover many topics that are fundamental to financial mathematics, including calculus, real analysis, linear algebra and geometry, differential equations, numerical analysis, optimization, probability theory and statistics, stochastic processes, and stochastic calculus.

You will obtain extensive experience solving real-world problems in financial mathematics and risk management in our math labs, where you will use appropriate mathematical and statistical software.

Our Bachelor of Science (BSc) program is focused on how Mathematics is connected with natural, physical and computer sciences.

 

Advantages:

·         You have the option to concentrate in specific areas of mathematics and applied mathematics, or take a wide range of courses.

·         Our program will give you experience solving real-world problems in financial mathematics and risk management in our math labs, where you’ll use mathematical and statistical software.

·         In your fourth year, you can choose to pursue a project of special interest under the supervision of a faculty member.

·         Our Mathematics Assistance Centre can help you with your assignments and exam preparation.

 

Admission Requirement:

·         Admission range of mid 70s.

·         English at 60%.

·         Advanced Functions, and Calculus and Vectors at 75%.

·         One of: Biology, Chemistry or Physics at 60%.

·         All prerequisite courses calculated in admission average.

Tuition Fees:

The Tuition fee in WLU depends on the credits students will choose and Students will be responsible for all fees assessed on their statement of billings.
