Program description:

Laurier’s Health Sciences degree is designed for students who are primarily interested in pursuing postgraduate opportunities in health-related fields, such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and public health. We offer a wide range of Health Sciences courses that examine the field from a variety of perspectives. We approach the study of health through a combination of fundamental courses in biology, chemistry, psychology and math, as well as applied health courses including anatomy, physiology, epidemiology, social determinants of health, etc.

As a Health Sciences student, you’ll learn scientific investigative techniques, critical thinking skills and core skills in applied health sciences. You’ll also gain hands-on lab training and other practical experience. This combination of skills and strengths will prepare you well for postgraduate study.

 

Advantages:

·         Through a case-based learning approach in several senior courses, you’ll be introduced to the teaching methods used by many health-based professional programs, and learn to integrate knowledge from multiple interdisciplinary perspectives.

·         Senior students have research opportunities with Health Sciences faculty through directed studies and senior thesis courses.

·         Advanced Functions at 60%.

·         Chemistry at 60%.

The Tuition fee in WLU depends on the credits students will choose and Students will be responsible for all fees assessed on their statement of billings.
