Program Description:

With the Fanshawe Business – Logistics and Supply Chain Management program, you'll be prepared to join private or public sectors in this demanding field. You'll learn how to analyze using computer software, while nurturing your negotiation skills. You'll cover business theories and put them into practice. Your courses will examine material sourcing, transportation methods, inventory, retail management, and analytical techniques. Available in a traditional in class format with September, January, February and May admission.

There are options to transfer to a degree completion program at many other post-secondary institutions or complement your diploma with a graduate certificate offered at Fanshawe College.

This program is recognized by the National Accreditation Program administered by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council.

 

Advantages:

Business - Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. The curriculum covers theory and application of supply chain management in private and public sector environments. Specifically, courses address material sourcing, transportation methods, inventory, retail management, negotiation skills and analytical techniques. Students also enhance their computer skills and their business communication skills. The program aligns to the curriculum of various professional associations in supply chain management. Graduates, equipped with the skills required to improve an organization's profitability and operations, are in high demand in both the private and public sector.

 

Admission Requirement:

OSSD with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (M), or Open (O) stream WITH: 
- Any Grade 12 English (C) or (U) 
- Mathematics* ONE OF:
       - Any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U)
       - Any Grade 11 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M)
          (Note: a minimum final grade of 60 required for any Grade 11 Mathematics course)
OR
Academic and Career Entrance Certificate (ACE) 
OR 
Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) AND: 
- Mathematics* ONE OF:
       - Any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U)
       - Any Grade 11 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M)
          (Note: a minimum final grade of 60 required for any Grade 11 Mathematics course)
OR 
Mature Applicant with standing in the required courses and grade stated above

Career

Graduates of Business – Logistics and Supply Chain Management are prepared to enter the supply chain field in all sectors (e.g., manufacturing, health care, education, transportation, construction, government). Graduates are suited to a variety of entry-level positions, including buyer, purchasing assistant, purchasing officer, purchasing agent, procurement coordinator, procurement specialist, logistics coordinator, logistics dispatcher, inventory specialist, shipper/receiver, transportation planner, transportation scheduler, warehouse supervisor and operations coordinator.
