Program Description:

Build on your Business diploma experience with the Fanshawe Business Administration-Leadership and Management advanced diploma program and take your leadership and management potential to the next level. You will develop the necessary critical thinking and analytical skills to make any business a success. Your creativity will be nurtured as you study cutting-edge innovations in the business sector, and your visions for sustainable and socially responsible business models will be put to the test in today's evolving economy. You'll explore the nuances of strategic planning, leadership principles and practices, and performance management. Available in a traditional in-class format with September admission.

You can apply for the opportunity to further develop your management consulting skills, with the option of substituting two courses for the intensive community consultancy program, working with real business live clients.

There are options to transfer into the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Management) degree at Fanshawe. Further details about pathways are available here. You can also be eligible to complete a degree program at many other post-secondary institutions, or complement your advanced diploma with a graduate certificate offered at Fanshawe College.

Advantages:

Business Administration - Leadership and Management is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program (laptop required). Students complete the two-year Business Diploma program and proceed on to this advanced diploma program. The Business Administration - Leadership and Management curriculum builds on the hands-on skills obtained in the two-year Business Diploma program by focusing on the critical skills and knowledge central to the advancement of any business professional. Students explore subject matter including strategic planning, leadership principles and practices, performance management, social responsibility, organizational change, global business, and creativity and innovation in business.  Additionally, students foster their ability in decision-making skills that are in demand in today’s economy.  Opportunities for experiential learning are integral to the program, allowing students to explore management in practice and apply their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Graduates of this program are well-positioned to leverage their knowledge and skills to move into management positions and leadership roles in a wide variety of organizations. Students also can earn all the education credits required for the Certified in Management (CIM) designation from the Canadian Institute of Management.

Admission Requirement:

Business Ontario College Diploma from Fanshawe College with a minimum overall average of 'C+' (2.5 cumulative GPA)
OR
An equivalent qualification from another institution as judged by the College with a minimum overall average of 'C+' (2.5 cumulative GPA)
OR
A combination of relevant education and work experience in a related field as judged by the College to be equivalent to the above

Graduates of the Business Administration - Leadership and Management program are prepared to enter the business world on a management career path in large and small businesses, industry, the not-for-profit sector and government.  Graduates are suited to a variety of intermediate-level positions, including management trainee, store manager, office manager, general manager, branch manager, operations manager, sales manager, production manager and plant manager. Graduates will also be well positioned to launch and manage their own small business.
