Program Description:
In the Child and Youth Care (Fast-Track) program, you will have the opportunity to learn how to support at-risk children, youth and families by developing therapeutic skills and abilities. Over the course of 16 consecutive months (4 semesters), you will learn how to build therapeutic relationships with clients and collaborate with your team as you evolve and create a professional identity as an agent of change.
Scope of practice includes:
age-specific focus (approx. 6-21 years old)
emotional-behavioural issues
mental health concerns including depression
developmental conditions such as Autism
The curriculum is supported by four distinct pillars:
resiliency
ecological perspective
anti-oppression and human rights framework
restorative practices
Admission Requirement:
Applicants are selected on the basis of their academic achievement, including the required courses, and any other selection criteria outlined below.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent**
Grade 12 English (C or U)
Grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade 12 (C or U)
** Mature Student status (19 years of age or older)

Graduates of the Business Administration – Accounting advanced diploma may be eligible for advanced standing in the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Services) program at George Brown.
