Seneca offers more than an education. History:

The Seneca of today was a long time coming. The College first opened its doors in 1967.Ground was turned in 1968 to create Seneca’s first permanent location on Finch Avenue East at Highway 404. The modest building grew in phases over the years and is today named after our founding president William Newnham. At the same time, Seneca created its Buttonville Campus to house its aviation program. The 700-acre King Campus, followed in 1971. The next major expansion happened in 1999 with the opening of the Seneca@York Campus, the first college campus to be located on the grounds of a university. In 2005, Seneca opened its Markham Campus. Currently, Seneca already has 11 campus.

King Campus is a natural setting of 282 hectares of woods, lake and fields. It is home to full and part-time programs in the areas of applied arts and health sciences.

Markham Campus is the first post-secondary education facility in the Town of Markham. The campus is home to full and part-time programs in the areas of business, marketing, tourism and aviation. It is also the location of the Confucius Institute at Seneca College.

Newmarket Campus, Newmarket, Ontario

The Newmarket Campus offers Employment Ontario services and access to resources and information. Programs at this location include employment counselling, job search workshops and job development services. Academic Upgrading is offered in the day and evening. Computer skills training is also available.

Newnham Campus, Toronto, Ontario

Newnham Campus is one of the largest college campuses in Canada. It is home to full and part-time programs in the areas of Business, Applied Arts, Applied Science and Engineering Technology.

Peterborough Aviation Campus, Peterborough, Ontario

The Peterborough Campus is the new home to Seneca’s fleet of aircraft and flight training devices, used by students registered in the Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology program. Flight training and classroom instruction, for students in years two to four of the program, is carried out at the Peterborough Municipal Airport. The first year of classroom instruction, and all other aviation programs, are at Newnham Campus.

Scarborough Campus, Scarborough, Ontario

The Scarborough site offers Employment Ontario services and access to resources and information. Programs at this location include employment counselling, job search workshops, job development services and specialized programs for skilled immigrants such as mentorship. Program Description:

This Honours Bachelor of Commerce - International Business Management program provides you with specialized skills and knowledge in the areas of international business strategy, technology and the business processes required to effectively work in today's global marketplace. Graduates will possess well-developed critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal and team skills, which are critical in this complex environment. Finally, graduates will have the skills required and cultural understanding necessary to succeed in a global business environment.

Admission Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including six Grade 12 (U) or (M) courses with a minimum overall average of 65%, or a mature applicant (21 years or older and has been out of high school for a minimum of two years). Mature applicants should disclose all previous postsecondary transcripts which may be used for admission decisions.

Required courses - minimum final grade of 65% in each:

· English: Grade 12 ENG 4 (U)

· Mathematics: any Grade 12 (U)

In the Honours Bachelor of Commerce - International Business Management (BMI) program, you'll be prepared for careers in today's global marketplace. In this global economy, companies may be selling products in one area of the globe, getting their supplies from another area and running production facilities in a third. International business managers have to recognize global events and their effect on business; they must be ready and able to effectively deploy and utilize business processes in this global dimension, and so will you.

English Language Institute

The English Language Institute (ELI) is an intensive, full time ESL program designed for international students who want to improve their English language skills for personal, academic or professional reasons. ELI students are a real part of Seneca College. They take their classes, eat lunch, socialize and take part in activities with the other 5,000 students at our Newnham Campus. Program:

· There are 8 levels in the ELI.

· Levels 1 to 7 are seven weeks each.

· Level 8 is seven weeks in March, May, July or November (we call this SHORT 8) or 14 weeks in January, May or September (we call this LONG 8).

· In May you have a choice between Short 8 or Long 8.

· There are 6 start dates per year: January, March, May, July, September and November.

· The placement test is the TOEIC® test. Take the test at Seneca or bring your existing score.

· You study 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday. See sample schedule here.

· In Levels 6, 7 and 8, you can study English and Seneca subjects for credit at the same time.

· When you finish Level 8, you can enter into your Seneca program without another English test if you have a conditional admission to your program.

· If you do not meet your English proficiency requirements, you can still apply and be conditionally admitted to most of our programs.
