Program Description:
The Drywall Systems Estimating graduate certificate program is offered in collaboration with the Interior Systems Contractors Association of Ontario(ISCA). The program is open to graduates of a three-year Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology or Renovation Technology program.
The program provides a hands-on environment where you will learn and practice the specialized skills employers value related to estimating drywall systems for wall and ceiling assemblies. Class and lab work is project based to replicate on-site construction activities and will give you increased practice in current industry practices and procedures.
You will learn how to work on both commercial and residential interior finishing projects that require an understanding of the components of the estimating process (specifications, scope of work, drawings and take-off process), tender/bidding processes, and using estimating and bidding software.
You will learn about:
Documents and procedures supporting the movement of products and services in a global supply chain
Statutory and regulatory compliance
International payment instruments and options
Foreign exchange strategies
Human resource strategies in an international operation
Admission Requirement:
3-year advanced diploma in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Renovation Technology, or equivalent*
Minimum overall GPA 2.7
Department interview (resume required)

Drywall construction details and principles
Canadian construction industry standards, procedures, protocols and codes
Canadian Construction business, estimating and bidding practices

Graduates will be able to fill drywall estimator and drywall project coordinator positions.
