Program Description:
Centennial College's Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design program offers courses that combine engineering theory and practice, focusing on the design and development of various mechanical devices and equipment. You gain a thorough grounding in engineering sciences and skills, including computer-assisted drafting and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) as used in the industry.
Advantages:
In the Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design program, you learn through machine shop operation, tool design and computer numerical control programming.
The program, which offers a 60-40 balance between theory and practice, includes instruction in industry-current computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and computer-adided analysis (CAE) software as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, ANSYS and Mastercam.
The project-driven program simulates actual workplace assignments and even gives you practical experience in designing, building and testing an original piece of equipment.
State-of-the-art mechanical engineering lab includes CAD/CAM equipment, thermodynamic fluid power testing modules, and tensile, hardness and impact testers.
