Program Description:
Combine an interdisciplinary exploration of urban life, its qualities and its discontents with the study of social geography — the discipline that has most closely examined the nature of city lives and city places.
You can orient your studies in a number of ways to suit your interests:
· explore the modern city
· study urban development in a global context
· research the history and comparative study of cities
· learn about planning and environmental issues.
Our program is unique in that it also stresses the importance of first-hand fieldwork of the social and spatial fabrics of cities.
Learn from a group of dynamic professors who care about individual student success. Courses vary and include interesting topics such as City Lives and City Forms, The Greater Toronto Area: A Geographical Perspective, Theory and Practice of Urban Planning, and Wired Cities: Community, Technology and Changing Urban Places.
