Program description:

Our Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Youth and Children’s Studies uses these questions as the basis for exploration into the cultures of childhood and adolescence. If you are wondering how you can engage with children and youth to make a positive change, Youth and Children's Studies will give you information, research strategies and analytical skills to succeed.

You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with youth and children through a required Community Service-Learning course, in which you’ll be placed in various child-care and educational settings. In addition, a number of courses include opportunities for active participation as a researcher, leader or caregiver in a variety of fields related to youth and children.

·         You’ll graduate with a range of skills that will help you approach contemporary social, cultural, educational, legal and health issues that face children and those who work with them.

·         Top-ranking Youth and Children’s Studies graduates will be guaranteed admission to Laurier’s Bachelor of Education (BEd) program as long as they meet the minimum admission requirements for the BEd program.

 

Admission Requirement:

·           Admission range of low 70s.

·           English at 60%.

·           Language requirements (please refer to the language requirements sections)

 

Tuition Fees:

The Tuition fee in WLU depends on the credits students will choose and Students will be responsible for all fees assessed on their statement of billings.
