Sir John A. Macdonald The Collegiate Institute was founded in 1964 and named after Canada's first premier; its campus is located in Scarborough and has a very convenient life. The school maintains a very high standard of teaching and education, with more than 80% of graduates going to college each year, and one third of the students receive scholarships from universities. The school offers a special gifted course entitled "Medal of Merit" to develop students' potential in English, math and science. Long-term participation of students in various volunteer activities, the school won the Toronto city volunteer award in 2012. The school has maintained the honor of gold-based environmental school, clean and beautiful campus environment.
