Established in 1960, the Victoria Park Collegiate Institute is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, with easy access to living and transportation. In 1987, our school became the first public high school in Ontario to offer an IB degree. The school has long enjoyed a reputation for excellence in teaching quality in Toronto, ranking it 7.9 / 10 by the Fraser Institute, an academic rating agency, among the highest of all Toronto-accepted international high schools. The school provides students with a biotechnology program that enables students to understand biotechnology's theoretical and career prospects through field work in the laboratory. The school offers a special internship program, "school to work," to arrange internships in industrial, medical and business industries to help students better plan their academic and career paths. The school's White Pine is well-known in literary circles in Ontario. Teachers and students read and comment on the latest Canadian literature. Each year, the most popular works are selected and authors are invited to participate in the awards.
