Under what circumstances can I apply IELTS re-marking?

When the test score is less than your expectation, and they wish to make a new judgment on their own achievements, then you can apply for the re-marking service. The IELTS score re-marking ensures that the candidate's English proficiency is accurately judged.

When can I apply for Enquiry on Results?

Application for re-marking needs to be applied within six weeks since the score is issued. You can apply for the four aspects of listening, speaking, reading and writing. You can also apply for only one aspect for re-marking.

How to submit re-marking and re-marking fees?

You can contact the local IELTS test center for re-marking. The current re-marking fee is approximately RMB 1,400 and can be confirmed by contacting the local IELTS test center.

The specific process: first fill out the re-marking application form - send the application form, payment receipt and the original IELTS transcript to the local IELTS test center.

How long does the re-marking process take?

Under normal circumstances, it takes 2 to 21 days, depending on how many aspects for re-marking and other factors. If it is more than 28 days, you can contact the local test center to confirm.

About re-marking results and re-marking fees

If any of the scores in the re-marking process are improved, it means that the re-marking is successful, the candidate will receive a new IELTS transcript, and the re-marking fee will be returned to the candidate's account. If the result of the re-marking remains unchanged or the score is reduced, the results on the transcript remain unchanged and the re-marking fee is not refunded.

1. There is only one chance for IELTS re-marking, that is, regardless of the outcome of the first re-marking, the second re-marking cannot be conducted. The re-marking result is the final effective result.

2. During the IELTS re-marking process, the IELTS score is frozen. In order to avoid the candidate missing the application chance during the IELTS re-marking period, the candidate may choose to take another IELTS test.

3. It is generally recommended to review both spoken and written. Listening and reading are reviewed by computers, so there are very few errors. It is not recommended for general review, because the more re-marking aspects, the longer the entire review time. In particular, candidates who want to get re-marking results as soon as possible, we do not recommend a general review.
