According to a report from the ICEF Insights Magazine for the past five years (GROWTH TRENDS: THE PAST FIVE YEARS), from 2014 to 2018, the world's major learning destinations have seen an increase in the number of foreign students enrolled, but some of these destinations are growing faster than others.

The United States still recruits the most international students, but its market share is declining as other countries become more competitive. Compared to 2014, the United States added 208,740 international students in 2018, a growth rate of 24%. However, Canada, Japan, and Australia have seen particularly impressive increases in student numbers over the past five years.
